Poultry house climate control

Separate systems only work together when one logic controls them. The climate controller reads the sensors and runs ventilation, heating and cooling according to the set programme.

In a poultry house

In a poultry house the programme takes the flock from start-up heating to tunnel mode in hot weather and manages the transition between ventilation modes.

Schematic, not to scale. Air movement follows typical Exafan schemes.

How it works

The programme takes the age or group of the animals and the season into account.

The controller decides when to add the next ventilation stage, when to start heating or cooling and how to keep them from working against each other.

The alarm system reports parameters outside the allowed range and failures so that staff can step in in time.

What it is made of

  • Climate controllerRuns ventilation stages, heating and cooling to a programme.
  • SensorsTemperature, relative humidity, CO₂; the set is chosen for each site.
  • Control panelsPower panels for fans, drives and pumps.
  • Alarm systemNotifications about deviations and failures.

What the calculation needs

If the data is sufficient, a preliminary calculation is possible before a site visit.

  • Systems to be controlled
  • Number of rooms or zones
  • Existing equipment and controllers, if any
